  22. If the port is only configured for dialin, not dialin and dialout, then it
  23. might not like the chatty modem.  If the port is to be used only for
  24. dialin, then there is no need for these responses to be enabled at all,
  25. and you might want to follow Frank's instructions for making the modem
  26. less talkative.  I should also work to configure the port for
  27. bi-directional use.  I think that AIX uses getty for login only, and
  28. uugetty for bi-directional.
